My awesome weekend :)

This weekend is one I will never forget. 

   
    Lets start from the beginning, I am currently working in Mayaguez for an internship that i got. So i have to live there during the week and comeback to my house on the weekends. This is the reason i have a car, (Yes i know i finally have a car !) , anyway it all started thursday july 4, i did not had this day off, but at least they let me go early, so I got to go to the beach with my parents to help the turtles like always do on the summers, but since i am working this summer i had not being doing it for a while. Anyway it was awesome my bestfriend got to go for the first time, and we found two baby turtles alive and it was just perfect. 

    Later on Friday July 5, i went to my grandmas because i wanted to change my hair color ( yes my grandma is a stylist and yes i was kind of blonde before) and since she has being doing my hair since i was little she was more than willing to do it. I got my natural brown color back and i was ready for my concert. Yes i had a concert on Friday night. The band that i was going to see was Beyond The Sun and yes they are not that well know but i really like them so anyway i had bought VIP tickets for the show so that means that i got special seats and meet & greet with the band, the only problem was that i was going alone.Yes that is right i was going alone since my best friend could not go with me, and since no one knew who the band was.. i decided to go alone. 

  At first it was horrible but later i met a girl and she was two years older than me and her name was Daphne and she was very sweet and crazy about the band like i was so we decided to go take our spot together (yes it was standing and there were not seat assign) We literally were in front of the stage as you can see in the picture. 

Finally it was time for the show and the boys (like always) were incredible and i just have to say that i was really close to take amazing photos. 

 By the time the last song came around Mr. Jamar Jackson (a very well know Radio host for Hot102) asked the public who was the biggest fan of the boys, of course everyone screamed as loud as they can. Then he said something that changed my life forever "ok since everyone is a big fan .. The first one to get on sta.." by the time he was finished i was already on stage with another girl. That is when he said "ok very well you two can stay, come on boys" The main idea of us on stage was to be with them for the last song of the night and the most popular one (!!!). I literally was freak out because first i can't dance, second i am a very awkward person and third yeah i am an awkward person but what ever i was already on stage with them so what the hell. It was so awesome because we danced like crazy girls all the song and we just had fun with boys. 

This is the girl that jumped on stage with me and who by the way became my friend later. 

   After this the meet & greet took place and each of the people from the vip are going to meet the guys and talk to them and get some stuff sign. There was were i took a picture with them  and got my poster  and a t-shirt sign. When they asked for my name the unthinkable happened, Colin the lead singer of the group after i said that my name was Andrea  he was like "Wait are you Andrea__16 from twitter?" Thats right they knew who I was, let me explain since i was a little stocker, I wrote to them every time i could via twitter, (and yes they responded to most of my tweets because i am awesome...no..not really they respond to anyone that write to them),  but hey i am a professional fan girl. 

    After we took the picture and everything i started talking with a woman, little did i knew that this woman was their mother, (yes they are all brothers). She was  a total sweetheart, she thank us for the support and really talked to us, not using any mask or anything it really showed how humble this family is. We also met the dad and i have to say he was nice like the rest of the family. 

   After all this, (yes there is more) we were saying our good byes when their mother asked us about the vip passes for the saturday event.( Yes there was also an event on saturday but this one was free and with more artist) She arrange everything so Daphne, Clara(the crazy scenario girl), another girl and myself could go backstage i talk to the guys on the saturday event. After this was all arrange we said our good bye and head it outside to wait for Clara's  mom. 

   When we were waiting Clara's mom called her to tell her that she was in some weird place and she was with the boys and their mother. So we literally run to the back door of the expo center to find Clara's mom and yes the band yet again. We literally talk to them for like 10 minutes it was at that moment that it truly showed how humble they are because they were not like "hey backoff the show is over we have to go" they were like "is nice to see that we have such passionate fans" (yeah they basically told us that is was ok to be stocker) and they also thank us for jumping and dancing randomly on stage for the last song. They even talk to my mom when she called because i was late. After this i finally went home. 

   That night i literally did not sleep at all, I went to bed like at 3am and i was up at 7am or something, because to be honest i was so excited and could not believe what happened the night before. Later that day my friends Laura and Beatriz were going to come, so we could go together to the summer fest which was in la Guancha, Ponce, and that is like 2 and half hour from my house. When they finally arrived we officially began our road trip which was awesome. We finally arrived to Ponce and decided to meet with Clara and Daphne at the Plaza Caribe mall, then our "fabulous" GPS got us lost so we took longer than excepted to get to the mall. Finally we made it and we eat with Clara and her mom. After this Clara took off to the Fest while my friends and I waited for Daphne to get to the mall, so we decided to do some window shopping and take a lot of selfies :) 

   Finally Daphne arrived with her friends and we were off to the fest, when we got there we already had a parking space( yes their mother gave us passes for one) so yes it was pretty awesome. We then receive a messege from the mom that said to meet them at 9pm at the security gate for the backstage meeting, so we waited and waited and waited until it was finally time to go talk to the guys.  When we got to the gate the assistant was already there waiting for us and told us that we had 30 minutes to talk and that was it. The boys were waiting for us at some table and they all greet us with a hug and friendly kisses  on the cheek(which cause me to blush like a tomato thank u very much), and yeah we basically talk about anything and everything, i personally asked about hockey in Canada and Phil answered with this exact words "yeah hockey is more popular than people going to the bathroom" yeah i really don't know if he was being serious ....Anyway we talked a little more and they talk about some Canadian bacon and how America thinks is different from regular bacon(don't ask) and then we talk about how cold Canada was compare to Puerto Rico which may i add is really cold. They suggested that we never visit Canada in the winter because we probably die (i am just being dramatic but hey i love the sun and the hot weather). So yeah the funny part was they asked me what "coño" meant in Puerto Rico, so yeah i basically told them that "coño, "carajo" and "puñeta" mean the same thing in english which it is Fuck (sorry for the swear word). They laugh about this and thanked me for teaching them how to swear which a found it weird but oh well what is done is done..Later I discovered that Colin, the youngest, went to Spain and one of the only thing that he learned was "cerveza" which means beer in english so yeah i basically told him that with that word he can get drunk pretty easy here in Puerto Rico. 

   

     Later they told us that they saw the video from the night before, and told us that it was impressive how fast  Clara and me got on stage, they were like "yeah Jamar was saying something we could not understand (yes Jamar was talking in spanish when he asked the girls to come on stage) and then you girls came from different side of the stage before anyone could react to it" with this i explain what Jamar was saying and then they thanks us again for dancing and basically not being awkward on stage. After this Phil told us how they saw the tits from Puerto Rico and we were like "what...?" and he was like "yeah the ones that are in highway" and we were like "ohh now we get it" Yes here in Puerto Rico we have two mountains that are in form of tits and they are called the Cayey Tits ( 'Las tetas de Cayey" in spanish). After all this our time with the boys was over and we had to say good bye for good :( 

    

    On the other hand i got to talk to Dalton ( yeah I love them equally but i have a soft spot for him) and i was so cool on the outside but in the inside i was dying!!! But yeah we talked and he was so shy and it was adorable (and I know that guys don't like to be called cute or adorable but hey he truly was). And then he was like "ohh are you ok?" And was like "yeah i am fine i just have my celebrity crush in front of me but yeah i am cool about it" and at that he finally laugh i think it was a nervous laugh but  hey what ever he laugh and beside is not like i will see him again anytime soon or that he will be reading this (Dalton if you are reading this humm .. yeah). So yes we said our good bye, then we took a picture and i got to stand beside Dalton (high five for me) : )

     So yeah when were going they asked where we were going to be at the public we told them and then we leave. The performance was incredible, everyone loved them I was so proud of them and by the final song another unthinkable thing happened.. since i was on Phil side of the stage and he pretty much knew were i was, he wave his hand or smile or look at me, i really don't remember, all that i remember is that i was in shock and everyone around me stare at me for about 5 seconds probably wondering "who the hell are you and why is Phil noticing you". By the last song Colin did the same thing and yes everyone stare at me again but yeah it was awesome how they kept their promises to look for us in the public :) 

     Finally their performance was over and my friends and I were really tired so we decided to call it night. With that we went to my house and they spent the night. At the next morning, i just could not believe it was all over, but at the same time i was so glad that it all happened, it was one in a lifetime experience and i enjoy everything and i even made new friends. So yeah all i have to say that Beyond The Sun is my number one band right not just because i got so close to them, is because they really are humble and they really deserve how their career is picking up. So to Beyond the Sun thank you and yeah lets see if they will remember me for the next time they come hahah (hey i girl can dream) ;D 

My first year at college

I give thanks to my friends.

This year had been one of the toughest ones in UGHS. After I pondered with my pillow I realize that the only thing that keeps me happy, not suicidal, quaint and not insensible are my friends. They are supporting me and since we are in the same pressure we give each other moral support as we like to call it. They are always their when I need to talk or when I implore for help in a homework assignment.  They show me how you can always be thereat to give one shoulder whenever I needed one and I learn how to give mine too. Yes this may be the toughest year of all but I give thanks to my friends because they stand by me no matter what and I have to make a obeisance to them for all they had give me.

Lung Cancer

     Cancer is a pernicious disease in all the world. Cancer is a disease that can appear for a lot of reasons. The first one is when you don't take good care of yourself. The second one is your habits, people sometimes have habits that can be dangerous for their health. The most common habit that can cause the born of cancer is smoking. Smoke is the number one reason of lung cancer. I consider myself a misogynist person when it comes to a persons that constantly smokes. Lets say in a rhetorical way that if you smoke the statistic say that you probably will have lung cancer at some point of your life. This information it is not new to people and most of the people that smoke are perspicacious so they know what they are doing with their life. The top situation that can get a person to smoke is the stress in their life. If a person make a lineamenents in their face every time they are in stress many people in the world will not have face at all. So it is important that people try to avert things that can cause cancer, of course they don't have to be in a bubble away from the world but they can be careful and value their life because you never know what may happen later.  

Worst Thanksgiving Vacations Ever

This year thanksgiving vacation, were not vacation at all. I have to do a lot of homework and especial assignment due next week. Sometimes i think teachers lost the true meaning of thanksgiving, they forget that we have life and family outside the schools walls. It is sad when you get to see your cousin or your grandparents and you can't spend a good time with them because you don't fill relax. It gets to the point that when my brother do a impersonation of me, he just grab a pencil or a pen and start writing anything and yelling: "I am Andrea and I prefer to be studying than go out with my friends."I think that before this year there is going to be a masthead in the news paper, and it would say "University Gardens students die of massive information in their brains". Maybe i am  exaggerating a little bit, but this year is a bad one for me. This year is full of trite because it is only work after work after work. I fill that i already talk in a verbose way to my friends thanks to all the essays I have to make to this year. I know I can be  little bit garrulous but this year I have reach the maximum. I have developed a phobia against essays, introductions and monographs. In conclusion this thanksgiving vacations were not a real vacation and this year at University Gardens can't be more irksome. 

The best weekend this year!

This past weekend I spend three days in "Campamento del Caribe" in Juana Diaz. This place is know for encourage people to spend time with nature. There is a beach near the camp, a fireplace and a lot of space to just run. My favorite part was sitting on a bench facing the beach at the moment of dawn. I only can hear the sullen and dauntless ocean, fill the sweet breeze and see the beautiful sun go away. My mind was empty this is something I did not know I was dross of doing because i always thought that my mind was capacious with all the school work. and for the first time in month I fill relax. I just seat there for an hour just watching, hearing, filling and smelling the abstruse Caribbean ocean in front of me. I officially averred this weekend one of the best ones yet.

2011 UGHS Volleyball Tournament

The volleyball tournament was a feat for me and many other students. I have to coordinate the teams that would come and at what time they will play. In the tournament I had to make sure they come and they were comfortable. After all this work I have to play and represent the school. Maybe we lose the championship because the coach became conscientious at the end and make too many bad choices but the important thing is that it was fun and it was memorable. After this the coach act in an animosity way that really upset me and the rest of the team. I it make me feel a little derogatory after loosing in my own court. In general was a great experience, it was  super exhausting and I was under a lot of pressure but at the end everything turn out find and every person had a great time.
